So Beachy

Hello everyone!  I have been so bad about keeping up with my blog.  I seem to forget to take photos before my furniture leaves for it's new home.  I am going to try to stay on top of it.  Not only for you, but for me too. Every girl needs a diary, right?

I don't have a before picture.  Long story short is that my phone had some issues and most of my pictures are gone, so for the next couple of posts there will be no before photos:(

Here is the longer version of what it looked like.

And here is the after!

I knew immediately that what I was going to do with this.  It screamed "beach" to me, so I mixed up a batch of homemade chalk paint with an oops grey that I had.  Then I went to Home Depot and picked out a 4 blue samples.

Staying with the beach theme, I used some rope to replace the hardware.

Love the darkest blue.

I have recently used "real" chalk paint.  I know most of you have used both DIY and store bought.  What are some of your opinions on the difference?   I cannot express how much I loved using the "real" stuff.  It went on so smooth and then when I sanded, it felt like butta!!! I think that this may have opened a can of worms for me.  I will probably blow my whole budget on getting my hands on every color!!

  1. This is so gorgeous! Visiting you from the weekend blog hop.

  2. I love it!! Looks wondeful and the rope handles are a great idea! I'm inspired to do one of my dressers like this! Thank you for sharing!!
    Hugs, Theresa

  3. I love the shades of blue and the rope pulls. I have had mixed results with the real chalk paint and it just kills my budget!
