Small Navy Dresser

Good afternoon everyone!  I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend.  We had an extremely lazy one.  On Saturday, I took a shower and got back into my PJ's.  It was just what I needed to get ready for the busy week we have ahead of us!

I bought this little dresser at a local thrift store.  I love small dressers.  They are by far my favorite thing to work on.  This little guy didn't have much detail.  I thought he would be cute for a little boy's room.

Here is the before.

And the after.

I gave it two coats of homemade chalk paint in a blue that I had on hand.  It was an oops sample from Lowes.  I added the stars to give it a little punch.  There are absolutely no details on this dresser, so it needed a little something.  Then I put a black glaze on it, and sanded it down with a 320 grit sandpaper.

This little dresser was fun to do.  It was kind of out of my comfort zone.  I think sometimes it's good to try new things.

XOXO
Wendy

  9. Adorable. What tupe of glaze did you use, if you don't mind me asking. I'm painting a cabinet navy right now and am tossed between a dark glaze or a whitish wax?
