On to the fun stuff...
I found both of these little guys at a local thrift shop.
I wanted to paint the mirror on the wall hanger with chalk board paint, but I accidently broke the mirror, so I just went with out.
Here is the after.
I painted it with a some aqua paint that I had on hand and just distressed it. I did remove the hardware first. I just soaked it in vinegar for about 30 minutes. Very easy.
Here is the little table.
Even though I used chalk paint on it, it was very shiny, so I made sure that I sanded it very well. Next I painted it in black paint and then gave it a coat of grey paint. Then I used a stencil that I had for the top, and then I distressed it.
I have a question for you gals. Have any of you ever held a sale at your house? I was thinking of doing a yard sale with all my fun finds. My concern is that people would be turned off by higher prices. I would love to hear about your experiences.
XOXO

Hi! You had left a comment on my blog, but you come up as a no-reply blogger so I couldn't answer you back. You had asked if blue sells well in my area--I have to say I think so. I looked back to what I have painted and quite a few pieces have been blue. I didn't realize how much I had been using blue! I thought I had been painting green more--which also sells well. I just kind of go with what paint I have laying around and if I think the piece would look good in it and if I think the color will be good coverage.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
