I was at The Salvation Army a couple weeks back. They were having their 75% off sale! I didn't find much, but I did come across this little TV stand. It was solid wood, so I grabbed it.
Here is what it looked like before.
I had every intention of switching out the hardware, but there are no screws to take off the old hardware. I have never seen that before... I dunno... I just went with it. I decided just to paint them black.
Here is the after!
My stockpile of furniture is gone, so I get to go shopping this weekend. It's my absolute favorite part about flipping furniture! I love the treasure hunt!
I hope that you all have a great weekend!!!
XOXO

Oh my goodness I LOVE this piece. The way the interior is stained against the black paint is perfect.
ReplyDeletethis looks great! i love how the dark grey transformed it. visiting from mms.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love this one too! And can you hunt for me too? Definitely not my favorite part. I'd much rather paint!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely- the design on the doors really makes the piece a special one. I like the stain you used on the inside; what type/color did you use?
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna. I used a honey colored stain in satin.
DeleteI think I'm going to end up posting on every post! Lol! Just found your blog and am catching up on your posts. I keep finding things I like! This is one of them. Love whatever color black this is.
ReplyDeleteSo usually I see an awesome painted piece of furniture and think - ohhhh I want to something like that some day - but of course, I never do. WELLLLL.... this time I followed through. I've linked back to this post as my inspiration. Check it out here if you want: http://www.kammyskorner.com/2014/04/charcoal-black-cabinet-distressed-chalk.html and.... all because you shared it on Trash 2 Treasure Tuesday! Thanks so much!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a really fun repurposing of a TV cabinet. There are still entertainment centers; they just focus on storing DVDs and players. As TVs move from bulky boxes to wall-hanging flat screens, this kind of abandoned furniture will become more common. furnituredesignaustralia.com.au
ReplyDeleteWow! It really is amazing what a bit of paint, and a good eye for design can bring to an old piece of furniture. You got a really good steal from the salvation army, and it looks brand new after the paint job. Well done, I am sure this will make someone very happy!
