Blue/Grey With a Little Shine

A couple of weeks ago, I was at one of my local thrift stores when I saw this adorable French end table.  From experience, I knew to look around the whole store to see if there was another one.  I ended up finding it's match clear across the store under a bunch of other stuff.  Score!  I love when that happens.

I don't know about you, but I could not stand the ugly yellow finish on these.  I didn't want it showing through, so distressing these was not a option.  I gave them a coat of primer and then two coats of a blue/grey paint that I had in my stash.  They still needed a little bling, so I mixed up a silver glaze.

  1. The silver glaze is awesome! These tables were a great find. I will never understand that yellow finish they started out in. A lot of mid century modern pieces are that weird color too.
