Grey With a French Twist

Hi Everyone!  I found this Dresser at one of my favorite thrift stores.  Small dressers are my favorite.  They can be used for so many things.  I think that this one would look so cute in a dining room used as a buffet!

Some pieces I know what I want to do right away, this was not one of them.  Even as I was putting on the first coat, I still didn't know what direction to go, so i just went with it.  

I know that a lot of you are experts on transferring images.  I am not, so I just went with printing it out, penciling the back, and tracing the front.  

 

 I switched out the top drawer's hardware for these little flowers that I found at Hobby Lobby.

Sometimes, it's more fun when you don't know what the final outcome is going to be.  Just trust yourself and let your creative side take over!

Blue/Grey With a Little Shine

A couple of weeks ago, I was at one of my local thrift stores when I saw this adorable French end table.  From experience, I knew to look around the whole store to see if there was another one.  I ended up finding it's match clear across the store under a bunch of other stuff.  Score!  I love when that happens.

I don't know about you, but I could not stand the ugly yellow finish on these.  I didn't want it showing through, so distressing these was not a option.  I gave them a coat of primer and then two coats of a blue/grey paint that I had in my stash.  They still needed a little bling, so I mixed up a silver glaze.

Two of a Kind

Hi everyone!  I finally got some painting done!  I took a couple of weeks off for family time and a much needed vacation.  We went to Portland to visit my family.  It was so nice spending a week with them.  I did come home with my painting hand a little itchy.  I needed my fix, so I got to work on this little set of end tables.  I have been lucky lately finding sets of tables.  I have 2 more sets waiting to be painted!

I gave these little tables a couple of coats of a grey that I had in my stash.  I'm still trying to be good and use what I have before I purchase anymore!

 I wanted the details to pop, so I distressed and glazed.
