Fun Finds #2

I have been out and about on Saturday mornings.  Going to garage sales and thrift stores.  I have been collecting things for my show.  Here is what I found last week!

A couple of vintage signs.  I actually already painted these and made them into different signs.

A really detailed picture.  I painted in Annie Sloan's Duck Egg and then dry brushed the details in Old White.  It looks completely different. (it will be on another post)

Canister set.  I can never pass these up.  Too many uses!

And now on to the good stuff!

I pretty much stole this gorgeous piece!  We had to treck 40 minutes to get it, but so worth it!  Especially since I found this next piece too!

I was so excited when I saw this piece.  I thought for sure that it was going to be a lot more than what she wanted.  It has the original wooden casters.  I so wish that I needed a double bed!

This little piece would look so cute with with plants on it.

Not a very good picture of this little guy, but he is so cute.  I think that it perfect the way it is, so my brush will not have a date with it:)

Tall, Solid, and Shabby

Hi Everyone!  I have been a little quiet lately, but I promise that I have been hard at work!  I am getting ready for my first show.  I have been painting everything in sight.  I have found some really great pieces.

I found this great dresser on one of my FB pages.  I could see that it had major potential, so I had my hubby pick it up for me.

Before

after

After staring at it for a couple of days, I decided that I wanted it to be really shabby.  I first layered it with white, then tan, and then I did a dry brush with black.  I really had no idea what the final outcome would look like, but I just put on some music and let my hands take over.

I love how it turned out!

I have a ton of posts that will be coming up, so stay tuned!

Fun Finds #1

Hi everyone!  I have been getting ready for my show coming up.  I have been out at yard sales and thrift stores.  This Saturday was a total bust for yard sales.  I drove around for an hour and only found a few.  The ones I did find had absolutely nothing for me... But they say when one door closes, another one opens!!!  I litterally live 2 minutes away from a thrift store strip mall.  It is defintly one of my happy places.  I think that there are roughly 10 stores there.  I just go from one to the next:)  I really scored there!

sorry for the horrible cell phone pics:(

2 really pretty prints by JW Gozzard.

Adorable wooden box

Two wooden shelves and a wooden foot stool with storage.

It must have been my week for Ironstone.  I found this gorgeous tureen for $4.00!!!!   I also found two platters, and two small plates.  The two small plates will be added to my wall.

This is an antique coffee grinder.  I just fell in love with it.  The body is made of cast iron and the top is a very heavy glass jar.  I might just end up keeping this for myself.

Love!

Last but not least is this beast of a dresser.  I guess that I didn't pay attention to how big it was until I went to pick it up.  It's 70"!!!  I think that it will be perfect for a entertainment center.
